Passion

I am blessed to have found the career I was born to be in. I have always enjoyed helping people, and this role is on a much more personal level. I am passionate about connecting with clients and helping them pursue what success looks like to them.

I feel that my clients are intelligent and could choose to manage their financial needs and risks themselves. However, they realize to do it right requires time to do the research and time to manage the process. With time being our most valuable and limited asset, they prefer to spend their time with their spouse, children, grandchildren or doing whatever they are passionate about. Because of the deep personal relationships I cultivate with my clients, I get to enable them to do more of what they are passionate about.

My business does not exist alone. It is a part of our community. I believe it is important to give back to the community that has supported my family and business. I find my clients feel the same way. On various occasions throughout the year, we donate our time and/or money to a cause we feel passionate. Just a few of the community and international organizations I have participated in are: The Father's Child Ministry, Palmer Home for Children, Children, Inc., Upward Basketball, Launch Team at The Orchard Church, etc.

Personal Life

I am a small town Mississippi boy who loves the outdoors. I grew up in West Point, MS. My father instilled in me a strong work ethic at an early age. I started working summers at the age of 13 in the warehouse at the local hardware store. I enjoyed participating in all sports throughout high school and on the weekends you could find me hunting, fishing or water skiing. After college I spent some time in Aspen, CO working on the mountain and enjoying the outdoors. It is a beautiful place and I met some amazing people. The most important thing I learned in Colorado is that my home and heart will always be in the South. I moved back to Mississippi in 1995 and have been here since relocating to Homewood, AL in July 2021. I am an MSU bulldog and love spending time on campus for sporting events. As a Christian, I hold myself to the standards found in the bible personally and professionally.

I am a Dad to three boys - Will, J.T. and Parker. They share my love for the outdoors and of course they love their electronic devices. When we are not at school or doing homework you can find us at cross county, track, baseball, football, basketball or swimming.

Investment Philosophy

At the heart of my philosophy is having a plan that supports the goals of each unique client. So we start with goals, and I help you identify what matters most to you. We will assess your situation and offer solutions in the following areas: Tax Planning, Estate Planning, Retirement Income Planning, Investments and Risk Management.  Through our ongoing relationship we monitor, review, re-assess and adjust your goals as necessary to meet the ever changing needs of your life to seek what success looks like to you.

Once your goals are set, together we will determine how much risk you are comfortable with at each phase of your journey to work toward those goals. Based on your desired level of risk, we can choose from the myriad of investments available to put together an investment strategy that is designed specifically for you. Your investment choices will need to provide a good offense in times of growth as well as a good defense in times of decline. We will strive for a well balanced portfolio aligned with your financial objectives and risk tolerance.

While my clients entrust me to partner with them in managing their finances, I insist that they understand what we are doing and why. Education is a huge part of what we do in our individual client meetings and through our various educational seminars and classes.

Background

After an undergraduate degree in Business and a Master's degree in Business Information Systems with a minor in Finance from MSU, I spent 13 years working in the family construction business. In 2008, I began my own businesses as a licensed real estate broker, home inspector and commercial construction. I used the lessons learned in the family business to start my own. After almost 6 years I was ready for a change. I put the real estate brokerage and construction businesses on pause while I concentrated on the home inspection business which I sold. I began discussions with a local advisor to work with her, to both learn the business and to support her transition to a well-deserved retirement. She has been instrumental in my rapid development and I am grateful for her generosity.

I hold a Series 7, Series 6, Series 66 and Series 63 licenses through LPL Financial. I also hold a life/health insurance license which allows me to write life insurance, long term care insurance, disability insurance, annuities, medical supplements and health insurance.
